Becoming a B Corp, is our defining moment of what we do as rum blender and is the most significant thing we could do in our journey so far.
What we have done up until now is good, but for us it's about what happens next and what gives us the ability to make a difference as a company and show other businesses what is possible.
What we do here is create exceptional blended rums, sourcing from some of the finest rum distillers around the world, then adding a little bit of Devon soul, but in addition to that we want to look to the future and protect our planet/environment and invest in our people.
We’ve been able to do some brilliant things so far, but want to do much more. We are proud to be plastic free and all packing is 100% recyclable.
Hattiers is a member of 1% for the planet, giving 1% of our revenue directly to our partnered charities, this helps us to protect our environment, oceans and wildlife.
Working with the B Corp community have given us some great ideas about getting a little bit better as we grow.
HATTIERS WOOD
In early 2021 we begin work on planting Hattiers Wood, a broadleaf native woodland, creating a new space for native species to thrive, whilst also creating a legacy of carbon capture for future generations.
This forms part of our bigger picture and commitment to be carbon negative during 2021.
Our journey with B Corp can be summed up simply. We are Using business as a force for good.
Today, we join a growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit. Hattiers Rum has been certified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.
