From 6 - 11 July, Cowes once again welcomed classic yacht sailors from across the UK and Europe for British Classic Week - a regatta that celebrates beautifully built boats, close racing, and a strong sense of tradition. With over 50 yachts competing this year, from early 20th-century gaffers to elegant modern classics, the event was a showcase of craftsmanship both on and off the water. The six-race series, organised by the British Classic Yacht Club with race management by the Royal Yacht Squadron (RYS), takes place in the challenging tidal waters of the Solent. The schedule includes class racing around the cans sponsored by our brand partner Spirit Yachts, as well as two longer fleet courses, including a race around the Isle of Wight and a race to the famous Solent Forts.
2025 marked our fifth year supporting the regatta, and as ever, we were proud to be back among a community that values heritage, quality, and time well spent - values we share in how we make our rum.
A Storm Brewing on the Pontoon
The highlight of the social calendar was the Pontoon Party on Tuesday, 9 July, sponsored by Classic Boat magazine. As the sun dipped over Cowes Yacht Haven, crews gathered for a relaxed evening of live music, dockside conversation and our signature Devon Storm cocktails.
This refreshing take on a Dark ’n’ Stormy made with Hattiers Egremont Rum, Luscombe Hot Ginger Beer, lime, and plenty of ice, was a perfect way to wind down after a day on the water.
We extend a big thank you to our friends at Luscombe Drinks for providing the finest ginger beer for the cocktails - nothing less would do.

Rum for the Winners
At the prize giving, class winners took home a bottle of Hattiers Rum alongside their trophies - a small nod to the effort and skill that goes into a successful week of sailing. Conditions throughout the regatta ranged from light breeze to punchy gusts, but the standard of racing was consistently high.

Why We Keep Coming Back
Hattiers is proudly based in Devon, where we blend exceptional rums and cut them with pure Dartmoor water. We don’t see British Classic Week as a sponsorship opportunity, it’s a chance to support something that feels meaningful and well made. Five years on, it still feels like the perfect fit.
Thanks to everyone who helped make 2025 another memorable year. We can't wait to be back in Cowes next summer!
